What We Offer
Adult, Infant, and Child First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
Participants learn how to recognize and respond to emergency situations; learn the difference between conscious and unconscious care; respond to choking, cardiac emergencies, and breathing emergencies; perform CPR on adults and children; and know how and when to use an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
Participants will learn how to care for breathing emergencies, cardiac arrest, and other life-threatening injuries and illnesses; perform initial assessment of the situation; care for an obstructed airway; know when and how to use an AED and perform CPR; and understand the legal considerations that affect a professional rescuer.
Pet First Aid
Participants will learn how to administer medications to pets; recognize an emergency; learn how and when to perform CPR and First Aid; treat commom problems and emergencies; and learn how to stock a pet first aid kit.
Baby-Sitter Training
Participants will learn how to provide the basics of child care; learn how to administer first aid; learn what to do in fire and storm safety; and learn how to peform conscious choking and rescue breathing.
Lifeguard Training
Participants will learn how to identify the behaviors of a swimmer, distressed swimmer, and an active or passive drowning victim; how to perform an equipment-based rescue; provide first aid and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies; and how to recognize and care for head, neck, and back injuries.
Water Safety Instructor
Participants need to have Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) before they can take this course. Participants will learn how to plan and prepare swim lessons; how to observe swim skills; and how to find ways to improve swim skills.
Online Learning
Participants take the course and written test online, and then call the Chapter to schedule their skills test.
